Matrix of Oracle DST patch version and database version (update on May 2010)

I always hear questions like: what DST patches I need to apply? Oracle did great job in this: it tried combine DST patch to patchset to make DBA easier, however, it doesn’t work for all versions. I recommend check out matrix of DST version and Oracle database version then apply correct DST patch.

RDBMS DST version        Standard included in

Version 1                Oracle9 uses v1 as standard
Version 2                Oracle10g uses v2 as standard
Version 3                the 10.2.0.3 patchset.
Version 4                10.2.0.4 , 10.2.0.5 patchset. 11.1.0.6 base release.
Version 5                No release uses this as standard and it will not be included in any patchset.
Version 6                No release uses this as standard and it will not be included in any patchset.
Version 7                No release uses this as standard and it will not be included in any patchset.
Version 8                No release uses this as standard and it will not be included in any patchset.
Version 9                No release uses this as standard and it will not be included in any patchset.
Version 10               No release uses this as standard and it will not be included in any patchset.
Version 11               RDBMS DSTv11 is the default for Oracle 11.2.0.1 The 11.2.0.1 OJVM is however on DSTv4 level
Version 12               internal update, not included in any release or patchset
Version 13               No base release uses this as standard. Will be included in 11.2.0.2 or up patchsets. Note: the latest level Oracle provide patch
Version 14               No base release uses this as standard. Will be included in 11.2.0.2 or up patchsets. Note: no Oracle patch yet
